LLN-GY - Inertial Navigation Unit

The LLN-GY is the leading navigator for military vehicles, which require constant position and heading indication for the crew and the networked Battlefield Management System.

The LLN-GY concept combining one inertial azimuth sensor (FOG) and two accelerometers (MEMS) has proven successful both from accuracy and economic point of view. After 12 years in continuous production, the new generation LLN-GY-40 keeps its unmatched dead-reckoning performance in a new housing, half the size of the former unit. Low power consumption and a re-qualification to the latest MIL-STD requirements, qualify the LLN-GY-40 as a military grade navigation system, defying jamming and spoofing scenarios. For integration with modern vetronics systems, the LLN-GY-40 offers a CAN-BUS interface while maintaining its standard RS-422 interface.

The LLN-GY supports the standard NATO GPS receivers as well as a selection of commercial GPS receivers. The loosely coupled GPS solution is the best choice for military vehicles with an expected lifetime of more than 20 years, as it can be easily adapted to changes in GPS technology like the envisioned introduction of M-code GPS and Galileo. The INS component guarantees a reliable navigation solution with unmatched anti-jamming capabilities.

The LLN-GY offers hybrid GPS/INS as standard navigation mode, unaided dead reckoning for jammed environments, and GPS-only as back-up mode. With the development of  sensors, algorithms, and system integration in NG LITEF hands, the LLN product line offers exceptional system integrity which both the crew and the network-enabled commander can depend on.
